Afternoon Brazilian propagation in Melbourne

Singing and dancing Brazilian signals arrived here in Melbourne
yesterday afternoon in the period 0400-0600 on 9 MHz and 11 MHz.

Propagation was via the Antarctic path (short path).

My research was in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, at the Woolrich
Lookout, Olinda, overlooking the Hamer Forest Arboretum.

This summary might be of interest, which includes many long-path signals
from Europe, Africa and the ME:

9565 BRAZIL R. Tupi network 0515
9670 CZECH REPUBLIC IRRS-Rimatska Sobota, English and Africa 0515 (***)
9690 GERMANY RL-Lampertheim Kurdish 0505
9700 TURKEY VOT 0500 Turkish
9755 RWANDA DW-Kigali English 0515
9760 GERMANY RL-Lampertheim Russian 0500
9805 FRANCE RFI-Issoudin English 0515
9820 TURKEY VOT *0500 Turkish
9840 RUSSIA VOR-Petropavlovsk English 0500
11765 BRAZIL R. Tupi network 0515
11770 S. AFRICA BBC-Meyerton English 0515
11815 BRAZIL R. Brazil Central, very strong 0515
11925 BRAZIL R. Bandeirantes 0500

Brazilians operate to variable schedules!

*** Note: I am amused as to why IRRS-Milano continues to register its HF
operations from "Milano, Italy" when in reality these transmissions are from
Rimatska Sobota, Czech Republic!
