9 MHZ SPECTRUM ANALYSIS

9 MHZ SPECTRUM ANALYSIS

Good signals this morning here in Melbourne 9 MHz in our post-sunrise window 1930 to 2000, Jan 17 2015.

Of note was Adventist World Radio's broadcast in the Tachelhit language from the Nauen relay, in Germany, on 9850.

Tachelhit (Shilha) belongs to the Northern Berber group of the Afro-Asiatic language family. Tachelhit is the Berber name of the language, while Shilha is the general Arabic term for Moroccan Berber languages. One of the most widely spoken Berber languages, Tachelhit is spoken by 3 million people primarily in South-western Morocco, and also in Algeria and France (Ethnologue). Since it is primarily spoken in the Sous region, the language is often called Sous-Berber even though it is spoken in areas that are well outside of the Sous basin.

These are other notable signals in that time period:

9515 GERMANY VOA-Lampertheim Kurdish
9590 SAO TOME VOA French
9635 ENGLAND IBRA Radio Woofferton, Shuwa (an Arabic languages spoken in Chad)

9830 S. AFRICA RFI-Meyerton French
9935 GREECE VOG Greek (different program to 9420)
