Study of the 9 MHz band during the Melbourne sunrise period this morning revealed that there are many vacant channels , reflecting the steady reduction in frequency occupancy as broadcasters continuously reduce or abandon HF transmissions.
 
This is a summary of frequency occupancy between 1900 and 1930 on Feb 3 2015 in the lower section of this band.
