MONITORING RESEARCH - 11 MHZ SPECTRUM
Solar activity continues its downward movement - IPS in Sydney reports that 10.7 cm Flux now as low as 95, and ESSN is 41.
So degraded long-haul multi-hop propagation continues over darkness or semi-darkness paths above about 12 MHz!
I went over to the Warrandyte State Park yesterday, in Melbourne's outer-east, quite free of power-line noise, at a location at Fiddler's Gully, in the old Gold Mining Precinct.
Lots of action on 11 MHz in the mid-afternoon, dominated by long path transmissions from Europe, Middle East, Africa, and short path from the Americas and Asia, using the pipsqueak Eton E5 and two metres of antenna. Don't need fancy SDR gear!
