Warrandyte is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 24 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District. Its local government area is the City of Manningham. At the 2011 census, Warrandyte had a population of 5,520.

 

The Park is very large, next to the Yarra  River.

 

HF reception there is enhanced by relatively low power line noise, and there are several easily accessible spots which give good reception during daylight hours.

 

This is a summary of notable frequency occupancies on May 18, 2016, between 0430 and 0500, local afternoon, on 7, 9 and 11 MHz, from the gold-mining historical precinct of Fifth Hill, using the small Eton E5 radio, and 3 metres of random antenna. Propagation was mainly long path from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and short path from the Pacific and Americas.
