MONITORING REPORT – 6 MHz SPECTRUM

 

Solar activity continues to remain at a very low level, as Sunspot Cycle 24 moves through its downward base. The Daily Equivalent Sunspot Count has been around five, the lowest for several years!

 

Many broadcasters have adjusted their frequency usage downwards into the 6, 7, and  9 MHz bands for night-time coverage from and into Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

 

Despite low solar activity, there is good propagation into Melbourne in the 6 MHz spectrum in our post-sunrise window. The following summary was made between 1930 and 2000 on November 7, 2016.
