Daytime signals

All,

To Rob Wagner, hope you are better!

Now that Spring has arrived, daytime signal patterns have changed
dramatically!

Solar activity remains low, with the 10 cm radio flux at 133, and the daily
smoothed sunspot number down to 87. Solar Cycle 24 is expected to peak late
in 2013, but actual levels will not be as high as in previous cycles.

For the time being, long haul multi-hop propagation into Melbourne across
darkness, or semi-darkness paths, above about 12 MHz is very chancy!

I have been preoccupied with house maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and
repainting the external woodwork!

I've also been working on my new on-line Heritage Project " The Forests of
Warburton", which will be published very soon. This will be followed by "The
Mont Albert Neighbourhood", "The O'Shannassy Aqueduct and Weir", "The Upper
Yarra Reservoir", and "The Victorian Alps".

I am setting up a Facebook Group about my local neighbourhood.

Bought a new replacement FujiFilm S2980 digital camera for $150 direct from
Hong Kong - arrived in two days, free postage! The same item is currently on
sale at "special discount" for $230 here in Melbourne, at Big-W and DSE!
Have been using a small $20 Chinese digital camera, which gives good results
in bright sunlight, but hopeless in low ambient light situations.

The following are some items of September 6, made on my birthday!
