AUSTRIA

The 18910 service for Australia from ORF 0900-0935 is at a primary azimuth of 255 degrees, slew minus–10 degrees, antenna designator 218. The intended target zones are ITU 58, 59, 60 (Australia).

A second freq is also listed, 17630, same details as 18910.

This puts the main lobe across Southern Africa, so the intended area of reception as “Australia” is ambiguous!

Only one freq would be used. Try both!

VIETNAM

It seems that the VOV is doing everything possible to discourage listeners on SW! It refuses to publish any details of its SW external service schedule on its website!

egistrations submitted to the HFCC for “Vietnam” itself are a great mess, due to many freqs not actually in use. However, the off-shore relay data in HFCC is correct for B12, which are managed by Babcock.

The relay from Moosbrunn on 5955 is 1800-2030. The channel is now also used by a DRM broadcast from Novosobirsk for VOA English and Russian, registered 1600-1700, which actually is observed in the 1800-2000 period, contrary to its officially assignment. This causes extreme interference to the Moosbrunn broadcast on 5955, and to other stations on 5950 and 5960.

Interesting to hear Jacko from the Dhabbaya relay of RA at the start of the Indonesian service on 11830 at 2200 on Oct 29! Is this the same Jacko which has been singing on RA since 1945 ?!!
