Propagation in to Melbourne continues to be excellent during our daytime hours, on frequencies lower than about 10 MHz, with the 7 MHz and 9 MHz bands open for the full 24 hours.
Winter officially starts tomorrow, and these good conditions should continue, allowing detailed study of propagation patterns and spectrum occupancies.
On May 30 2012 I visited one of my secret field monitoring sites on the Yarra River, at Witton's Bushland Reserve, in the Warrandyte State Park, 30 km east of central Melbourne, with surprising results in our mid-afternoon window!
