I went out to the Olinda Forest yesterday to one of my favourite field monitoring sites – at the entrance to gated Management Road 19, off the Olinda Creek Rd, near the historical Olinda Creek Weir.
Some interesting propagation!
What amazed me was the almost complete absence of power line interference – there was almost ZERO noise floor and reception was limited by the sensitivity of the receiver – the little Eton E5 with about 3 m of random antenna !
The 31 mb was very full at 0315, and 41 mb signals appeared at 0345. Brazilians OK on 9565 11765 and 11780. The usual long path channel from Iran was open.
Summary – selected entries only!
