SPECTRUM RESEARCH – 6 MHZ BAND

 

Strong signals in this band this morning during the Melbourne sunrise window between 1830 and 1900.

 

Good propagation, short path, from Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

 

Of note was the absence of RTMalaysia (Kajang) from 5965 – this normally carries a domestic Malay service – it is unclear as to whether this is a temporary closure or a permanent shut-down. Some months ago, the domestic English service on 7295 (Kajang) closed down. The relays via Kajang of RTM-Sarawak continue to be observed on 11665 and 9835 at various times.
