down to 93, and the Smoothed Sunspot Number falling to 38.
They are very low values, so not much hope for reliable HF multi-hop
propagation above 14 MHz over long distances during darkness or
partial-darkness hours.
Notwithstanding that, propagation below 14 MHz has been quite good, at least
into Melbourne, and we have had our first snowfalls in the surrounding
hills!
I have been studying the 9 MHz spectrum, which offers lots of activity for
propagation research, with this band now open for the full 24 hours.
