Yarra River near the Monitoring Site |
Good signals on 11 MHz during the Melbourne mid-afternoon window, on February 25 2014, various propagation modes, such as the Americas (short path across Pacific), and long path across the Indian Ocean, from Europe, Africa, ME, and Asia (short path).
This was on a hot day - 35 degrees - at one of my favourite field monioring sites in the Warrandyte State Park, next to the Yarra River, at the canoe landing ramp at the end of Lower Homestead Rd, near Wonga Park.
Receiver was on the pip-squeak Eton E5 with 2 m of random antenna!
