A15 MONITORING RESEARCH
As predicted, there have been hundreds of frequency changes made by international broadcasters since the start of the A15 season on March 30.
This is a summary of notable frequency occupancies, made here in the pre-sunrise window here in Melbourne on March 30, examining the 11 MHz, 13 MHz and 15 MHz bands in the time-span 1730 to 1800.
Solar activity remains low. with the 10.7 cm Solar Radio Flux down to 134, and the Equivalent Smoothed Sunspot at 88.
Of note are :
- The cessation of all transmissions from Kigali, Rwanda
- The rearrangement of DW and AWR relays to alternative sites, due to the closing of the Kigali facility
- Increased usage of the Issoudun facility in France
- Transmissions in the Beja language for Sudan
- CRI use of 15 MHz for night-time broadcasts in French for Africa
