The shortest day in Victoria will be on June 22, 2015, which bodes well for good long-haul, multi-hop propagation during our daytime hours.
I was in the mountains east 50 km east of Melbourne on June 14 2015, exploring some hiking tracks in the Yarra Ranges National Park, near Healesville (photo).
This was in the Melbourne Water Catchment Area, and interesting propagation noted during the mid-afternoons on 6, 7 and 9 MHz, from a site near Donnelley's Weir, using the Eton E5 with two metres of random antenna.
This is the summary of selected notable observations, at 0430 (2.30pm local), dominated by long path signals vrom Europe, Middle East, Africa, and short path from Brazil and the Americas..
