This Chart, as at April 24, 2016, courtesy of the Australian Government – Department of Meteorology - Space Weather Services (previously known as the Ionospheric Prediction Service – IPS) shows Sunspot Number variations for the current (No. 24) Sunspot Cycle.
Blue line is the Predicted Smoothed Sunspot Number
Yellow is the Observed Monthly Sunspot Number
Red is the Observed Smoothed Monthly Sunspot Number
Note the secondary peak predicted for mid-2016 and early-2017! The end of the present Cycle is expected to occur in early 2022.
Observed sunspot count as at April 23 2016 was VERY LOW – 71.
