HF Monitoring Report - Melbourne - 9, 11, 13 MHz Spectrum

 

This is  a summary of notable frequency occupancies across the time span 0330-0400 on March 10, 2021. Location was in Westerfolds' Park, in the outer eastern suburb of Templestowe, adjacent to the Yarra River. Receiver was the little Eton E5, using a random wire antenna 1 m high, 3 m long!

Afternoon activity on 13 MHz

This is a summary of afternoon signals on 13 MHz on Dec 3 2012,  in the window 0300 to 0400, from a monitoring site near the Olinda Creek, in the Dandenong Ranges NP, 35 km east of central Melbourne.

From a technical viewpoint, all of the 13 MHz Asian signals were short-path, all-daylight propagation!

Monitoring on 13 MHz band

South Hill, in the Warrandyte State Park, is one of my favourite field monitoring sites, with virtually no power-line interference, as the nearest overhead line is about 500 m away!

This is what the 22 mb looked like yesterday afternoon, Nov 19 2012, between 0300 and 0400, with these propagation modes active:
