I was in the Olinda Forest , 30 km east of central Melbourne, yesterday and did some propagation research in the mid-afternoon period, using the little E5 receiver and three metres of random wire antenna.
Its autumn now, 'with good longpath signals from Europe, Africa,ME, and shortpath from the Americas, on 6 MHz, and Antarctic-mode Brazilian activity on 9 MHz and 11 MHz.
Solar activity remains very low, with the 10.7 cm flux down to 122, and the equivalent smoothed sunspot number down to 72.
