On March 25, 2013, I intercepted unusual long-path propagation from Central Africa on 7 MHz, during our early afternoon period.
Reception was from one of my secret Field Monitoring Sites in the Warrandyte State Park, using the pip-squeak Eton E5 and and a 2 m antenna!
This was the DW relay at Kigali, Rwanda, carrying English 0300-0400, on 7285, with strong signals marked by deep fading, suggestive of Complex Propagation Mode involving top-Layer F2 reflection.
The only other signal on 41 mb at the time was Voice of Russia, 7290, from Kishinev, Moldova, also with English.
From 0400 to 0430, lots of live action on 9 MHz from Africa, Europe, ME, including
9335 KUWAIT R. Azadi, Pashto
9470 RWANDA DW-Kigali,English
9500 IRAN Arabic
9505 ETHIOPIA
9655 TURKEY English
9705 ETHIOPIA R. Ethiopia, Amharic
9905 EGYPT Arabic
9940 BULGARIA R. Miraya, Sofia, Arabic
