On July 6 2014, an interesting propagation event was tracked between 0455 and 0545, dominated by transmissions from Brazil, in the 49, 25 and 31 metre bands. This was in the time span 2.55 pm to 3.45 pm, with reception in the Warrandyte State Park, Pound Bend Reserve, in Melbourne's outer east, at a site which is relatively free of power-line interference, on the banks of the Yarra River.
The Brazilian signals included several stations which were running 24-hour services for the World Cup, very rarely heard here in Melbourne in this time window.
Other signals were long path from Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
This is a summary of this propagation event!
